Prospect Phase
In this phase, we create a collaborative environment with our customers which involves thorough discussions and site visits to understand their vision and foster creativity. We provide detailed project timelines and estimates, ensuring transparency and clarity.
Our focus is on open communication. As we move from the prospect to planning phase, it is critical that every member of the team has one shared version of the project. Effective teamwork begins and ends with communication.

Planning Phase
We believe that the Planning Phase is the most critical part of any project. We invest a significant amount of time and energy in this phase. Throughout the Planning Phase, our expert team collaborates closely with architects, engineers, designers, building officials, subtrades and of course our customers to distill the project into actionable plans. Through site assessments and concept design revisions, we refine the project timeline to ensure every single detail aligns with our customer's aspirations and budget.
Our Project Manager and support team review the drawings, coordinate the permit process, source materials, and schedules our trusted sub-trades. We on-board our customer to their own Customer Portal, allowing them to actively contribute and stay informed throughout the entire project.

Active Construction Phase
This is where the action happens! In the Active Construction Phase (ACP), our skilled carpenters handle all aspects of the project, from excavation to finishing touches. Our Project Manager and Field Crews work closely together to ensure the project is being completed on time and on budget. Through regular progress updates and photo uploads to the customer portal, we are able to keep our customers informed in real-time. Our customers are always able to access their project portal and witness the exciting progress as it happens.

Warranty Phase
Once ACP is completed, we hand over the keys and this marks the beginning of the Warranty Phase. We stand behind our work with an industry leading Warranty Plan. We are available 24/7 to address any questions or concerns. Our business and reputation are built on the satisfaction of our customers - one project at a time.

Every single project begins as a thought, idea, want or need. In a Design-Build project, you are able to leverage True Built Homes extensive experience and carefully selected industry trade partners. Through a partnership approach, we collaborate very closely with you every step of the way to build your idea into your reality.

Project Management
Starting a new project can be very exciting! It can also be very overwhelming. Coordinating all facets of a construction project, from pre-construction to completed structure is an incredibly detailed and at times very difficult undertaking. Effectively managing permits, people, resources, materials, costs, quality, and scope of work is an all-encompassing, time-consuming endeavour. Through years of refinement, True Built Homes has developed a powerful approach to project management. You can leverage our experience and process by taking advantage of our Project Management services.

Project Consulting
It can be challenging to source and make sense of correct construction and building science information. Sometimes you just need a reliable resource to share ideas or get a second opinion. True Built Homes can play this role for you. We are building science nerds and would love to chat with you about your project!

ICF
Insulated Concrete Forms is a system of expanded polystyrene [EPS] rigid insulation blocks stacked on top of each other to form the walls of a building. The blocks are filled with a steel reinforced concrete core to create a solid structure. ICF built homes are stronger, safer, quieter and much more energy efficient. True Built Homes is certified in ICF installation.

Excavation
True Built Homes has skilled heavy equipment operators on our team. We personally undertake demo, excavation, and site grading services. This gives us more control over the quality of our projects.

Jason Chartier
Red Seal Carpenter #200236849
Jason’s Path to True Built Homes was not a direct one. Born and raised in Kingston, after graduating from Queen’s University Jason moved to the Greater Toronto area for work. Over 2 decades, Jason built his career in the corporate world where he held roles of increasing responsibility. He has extensive experience in project management and financial governance. In 2017, Jason, his wife, and their children moved back to Kingston to be closer to extended family. This move provided Jason with the opportunity to follow his passion for building and creating. He returned to school, and from 2018 – 2023 worked as a Carpenter’s Apprentice for a Kingston-based custom home builder. In 2023, Jason became fully licensed as a Red Seal Carpenter. Jason combines his corporate experience with his building science and construction knowledge to provide True Built Homes customers with an honest, practical, and holistic approach to their projects.
Tim Poole

Tim started in the trades by completing an electrical co-op in high school. He then worked in landscape design in Belleville for 5 years and developed a particular love for the building components of jobs. In 2012, he moved to Kingston and started working as a Carpenter’s Apprentice with his father-in-law where, over the following 7 years, he renovated kitchens and bathrooms, flipped full houses, built decks and fences, and a little of everything in between. Tim became fully licensed in 2016 and now enjoys training and mentoring those new to the trade. From 2020 to 2024 Tim was a Team Lead / Project Manager for a Kingston based custom home builder. He is very detail-oriented, enjoys an honest hard day’s work, and strives for excellence in all aspects. Tim is a family man who is the happiest fishing at the cottage or making a great play on the soccer field. He is looking forward to building many custom homes and continuing to make homeowner’s dreams come true with True Built Homes.
Emery Mather
Office Administrator
Emery plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our construction projects from behind the scenes. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for organization, she manages administrative tasks with efficiency and accuracy, allowing our team to focus on delivering exceptional results for our customers. Emery has her Office Administration Diploma which allows her to bring a wealth of expertise to the table. From handling payroll and accounts payable/receivable to maintaining records and managing correspondence, she takes pride in keeping the financial processes streamlined and transparent. Outside of work, Emery is often escaping to the cottage for a weekend getaway with friends and family, exploring new hiking trails, or losing herself in a good book. Emery is dedicated to providing exceptional service to both her team members and customers alike!
